These Terms of Service govern your use of MyValik. By creating an account or using any part of the platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who can use MyValik

MyValik is available exclusively to enrolled advocates registered under the Advocates Act, 1961. By signing up, you confirm that you hold a valid Bar Council enrollment and that the enrollment number you provide is accurate. MyValik is not available to the general public or to persons seeking to connect with lawyers for legal services.

2. What MyValik provides

MyValik provides two services to subscribers:

• Cause List Tool — fetches your hearing schedule from eCourts and delivers reminders via WhatsApp.
• Judgment Search — provides AI-assisted search and vernacular summaries over publicly available court judgments.

MyValik is a productivity tool. It does not provide legal advice, does not represent you in any proceeding, and does not create any advocate-client relationship between you and MyValik.

3. AI-generated content

Judgment summaries and search results are generated using AI. While we take care to ground all outputs in verified source judgments, AI systems can make errors. You must independently verify all AI-generated content before relying on it in court or in any legal filing. MyValik displays a "verify before filing" reminder on all AI outputs. This is not optional — it is a condition of using the service.

MyValik accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in AI-generated summaries or search results.

4. Subscriptions and billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose.
• 18% GST is charged separately on all plans and is shown at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. MyValik does not store your card or bank details.
• A GST-compliant invoice is issued automatically after each successful payment.
• Introductory pricing is available only to the first 100 subscribers and is locked in for the duration of their subscription.
• Subscribers who joined at introductory pricing will not be moved to standard pricing without notice.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at hello@myvalik.in within 7 days of the charge.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials with any other person
• Use MyValik to generate or circulate fabricated case citations
• Attempt to scrape, copy, or redistribute judgment data obtained through MyValik
• Use MyValik in any way that violates Bar Council of India rules or applicable law
• Misrepresent your enrollment status or bar number

7. eCourts data

Cause list data is fetched from eCourts (ecourts.gov.in), a government portal. MyValik does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of eCourts data. Court schedules can change without notice. Always verify your hearing schedule directly with the court registry before appearing.

8. Limitation of liability

MyValik's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees in the 3 months preceding any claim. MyValik is not liable for missed hearings, professional consequences, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.

9. Changes to the service or terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of MyValik after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from use of MyValik shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Guwahati, Assam.
