Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 July 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of MyValik. By creating an account or using any part of the platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who can use MyValik

MyValik is available exclusively to enrolled advocates registered under the Advocates Act, 1961. By signing up, you confirm that you hold a valid Bar Council enrollment. MyValik is not available to the general public or to persons seeking to connect with lawyers for legal services. If you are found not to hold a valid Bar Council enrollment, your account will be immediately terminated without refund.

2. What MyValik provides

MyValik provides two services:

  • WhatsApp Cause List (paid plan) — fetches your hearing schedule from eCourts and delivers reminders via WhatsApp.
  • Judgment Search — search and read full-text Supreme Court judgments for free. High Court judgments (24 High Courts) require the Library plan or higher. The Research Pro plan adds AI summaries (Facts / Issues / Held / Ratio), PDF downloads, precedents map, BNS / BNSS / BSA section mapping, and query alerts.

MyValik is a productivity tool. It does not provide legal advice, does not represent you in any proceeding, and does not create any advocate-client relationship between you and MyValik.

3. AI-generated content

Judgment summaries and analysisare generated using AI, from the text of the judgment you are reading. Search results are not — judgment search is a conventional full-text search over our corpus, with no AI involved. While we take care to ground every AI output in the source judgment, AI systems can make errors. You must independently verify all AI-generated content before relying on it in court or in any legal filing. MyValik displays a “verify before filing” reminder on all AI outputs. This is not optional — it is a condition of using the service.

MyValik accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in AI-generated summaries or search results.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose.
  • All prices are inclusive of all charges. Nothing extra is added at checkout.
  • Payments are processed by our payment partner. MyValik does not store your card or bank details.
  • A digital invoice is issued automatically after each successful payment.
  • New signups receive a 7-day free trial of the Full Stack Bundle. Standard plan pricing applies after the trial ends.
  • The free trial is limited to one per advocate — an email address or phone number that has already been used for a MyValik free trial (including the launch promo) is not eligible for another. See our Privacy Policy for how we verify trial eligibility after account deletion.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at hello@myvalik.in within 7 days of the charge.

On cancellation, your account is moved into a read-only state for 30 days so you can export your data. After 30 days, your personal data is removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial invoice records). For details on data deletion, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with any other person
  • Use MyValik to generate or circulate fabricated case citations
  • Use AI-generated summaries or search results from MyValik as marketing content, social media posts, or any form of advocate self-promotion in violation of Bar Council of India rules
  • Attempt to scrape, copy, or redistribute judgment data obtained through MyValik
  • Use MyValik in any way that violates Bar Council of India rules or applicable law
  • Misrepresent your enrollment status or bar number

7. eCourts data and service availability

Cause list data is fetched from eCourts (ecourts.gov.in), a government portal operated by the National Informatics Centre. MyValik does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of eCourts data. Court schedules can change without notice. Always verify your hearing schedule directly with the court registry before appearing.

The cause list, hearing-reminder, and case-tracking features depend on data availability from eCourts and on third-party services (for example, our WhatsApp delivery partner). These services are outside MyValik's control. We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access. Service interruptions caused by eCourts downtime, court-portal changes, telecom disruption, or other events outside our reasonable control are not within MyValik's liability.

7A. Judgment search data sources and attribution

Judgments displayed through MyValik are sourced from publicly available repositories:

Coverage varies by court and by year. MyValik does not represent that its corpus is complete for any court or period, and it is not a substitute for the official record of any court.

AI-generated summaries are produced by MyValik using these public source texts and a third-party AI provider; the underlying judgment text is unmodified.

7B. Library — bare acts and reference material

The Library reproduces the text of Central and State legislation, along with reference material such as legal terminology. Reproduction of the text of any Act of a legislature is permitted under section 52(1)(q)(ii) of the Copyright Act, 1957. MyValik claims no copyright in any statutory text presented in the Library.

The Library is a convenience reference, not an authoritative text. It is compiled from public sources and is not the official Gazette text. Section numbering, amendments, provisos, commencement dates, and State-specific variations may be incomplete or out of date. Before citing, filing, or advising on any provision, verify it against the official Gazette or India Code (indiacode.nic.in). MyValik accepts no liability for reliance on Library text that has not been so verified.

8. Intermediary status and content takedown

MyValik operates as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and complies with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

If you believe any content stored or transmitted through our platform is unlawful, infringes your rights, or otherwise violates these terms, you may send a takedown request to our Grievance Officer at grievance@myvalik.in. We will acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days, or as otherwise required by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

9. Limitation of liability

MyValik's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid in subscription fees in the 3 months preceding any claim. MyValik is not liable for missed hearings, professional consequences, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform. By creating an account, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this limitation.

10. Changes to the service or terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of MyValik after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from use of MyValik shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Guwahati, Assam.
